Dear Students and Parents!!!
Welcome to Jagiroad College, a premier NAAC A+ Graded and UGC Autonomous College!!!
First and foremost, I would like to express my sincere gratitude for choosing Jagiroad College as your new academic destination which is filled with holistic learning experiences, social and extracurricular activities, and caring for personal and professional growths. Jagiroad College since its inception has been in the forefront of promoting inclusiveness and equity, adopting learner-friendly teaching-learning approaches, academic exchanges, organizing workshops, seminars and conferences, exhibitions, student excursions and counseling sessions for all round development of its students. This institution is devoted in provision of strong focus on academic excellence and in fulfilling students’ dreams into reality through its sincerity and perseverance. For its relentless effort, the college has recently been conferred Autonomous Status by the UGC and we are going to offer our FYUGP Sem-I courses under the ambit of Autonomous College System from this academic session.
Over the years, Jagiroad College has been attracting new learners for its tranquil greenery campus, good infrastructure with modern ICT facilities, dynamic, energetic and supportive faculties and staff, pro-active and visionary management. Over the years, the college has been expanding its academic offerings from undergraduate Arts and Science Streams to career orientated professional disciplines under Gauhati University. The college also offers distance education programmes under IGNOU, KKHSOU and GU-IDOL (renamed as GUCDOE from 2023). The college is also going to introduce B.A.B.Ed. and B.Sc.B.Ed. under Integrated Teacher Education Programme (ITEP) of NCTE from the academic session 2026-27. The college also offers opportunities to learn from National and International workshops, seminars and conferences from time to time. As a part of its social responsibility, the college last year organised a mega International Semiconductor Workshop on 25th October 2024, for creation of mass awareness on TATA’s Semiconductor Industry establishing at Jagiroad. Again the college organized ICSSR sponsored International Seminar on 28th and 29th November 2024, where students got the opportunities to learn and interact with various national and international speakers and presenters. The quality of education offered by the institution has been reflected by the recent assessment by NAAC in its 3rd cycle in the year 2023. The NAAC peer team has assessed various indicators comprising of physical facilities, academic activities, infrastructural development, etc. and have accredited the college with encouraging 3.26 CGPA and awarded A+ grade. This proves the testament of the glory that the college has been continuously carrying over.
Jagiroad college is viewed positively by many eminent personalities such as Prof. Nani Gopal Mahanta, Hon’ble current Vice Chancellor of Gauhati University during his visit to this college immediately after the 3rd Cycle of NAAC assessment outcomes and encouraged the college fraternity for their enthusiasm and passion in teaching, fostering critical thinking etc. and further encouraged the college fraternity to move ahead with Academic Autonomy. The college has been making every effort to upgrade itself for students’ intellectual growth and development. Therefore, I encourage each one of you to explore the opportunities that the institution offers.
