Jagiroad College has inculcated a good culture of being involved in community oriented activities. The College has been in the forefront of assisting flood marooned people of the surrounding rural areas. A number of its staff were actively involved in organizing health camps, providing relief to the people in remote villages, distributing books, organizing free coaching for teachers and students of schools, conducting socio-economic surveys, counseling students besides being associated with community based organizations.
The Jagiroad College Teachers Unit has adopted one village at Sonaikuchi, near Meghalaya boarder. The College community already visited the Village and surveyed it taking different parameters. Few aids in the form of kind were also distributed to the villagers.
The Extension Education Cell of the College actively engaged in various extension and community related services. The cell already organized an extension programme at ‘Jagi Kalpataru Puthibharalaru Krishti Chora’ at Jagi village, where two resource persons from the College delivered lectures on the topic ‘Women Empowerment’. The cell also took initiative to plant saplings in and around the College campus.
